The Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) has decided its selection committee meeting, and the announcement is probable to be somewhat. Although the team has not yet been officially released,
trusted sources revile that Rishabh Pant will not lead the side Ayush Badoni has been retained as captain. It remains undecided whether Virat Kohli will be included in the squad. Delhi is set to play against Saurashtra in Rajkot starting January 23.
Pant, who has made himself available for the game – he will playing Ranji game for the first time since 2018, has failed to lead the Team.
The India capped wicketkeeper batsman, who also led the country once (against South Africa series), and also been a vice-captain,
he is understood to have told the Gursharan Singh-led DDCA selection committee that Badoni should continue to lead and added that he will do his best to help him. Delhi is in joint second position in the Group D Ranji table with 19 points.
“He was given the captaincy but not accepted, telling that Badoni should continue as skipper,
a source familiar with the matter told this. He told that it does not matter any one can take seat of skipper on the base on international experience and IPL team captain.
He feels that if skipper will sudden change, it may disrupt team combination. He expressed that , he is ready to play with current coach and skipper, to carry forward their vision envisioned at the start of the season. Excitingly, there will be a role exchange between Pant and Badoni when the Indian Premier League (IPL) starts in March.
Pant will lead the Lucknow Super Giants in same team Badoni will be a junior player.
This time, it is reported that Kohli is not fit. Sources say that DDCA president Rohan Jaitley may talk to the senior Indian batsman who has been struggling with form in international cricket. Recently,
the BCCI is asking to international players to participate in domestic matches ,when not playing any international series .because domestic cricket give them a opportunity to all player either domestic player or international player.
Domestic player try to get a position in national team and International player try to find their form which is only way to keep continue their role in national team.
